Barney is an Associate with more than eight years’ experience in private sector planning, advising on residential, commercial and mixed-use development projects in London and the South East.

Barney joined Nexus Planning as an Associate in March 2026. He supports clients throughout the planning process, including policy representation, pre-application engagement, planning applications, post-consent delivery and planning appeals.

He has experience managing projects of varying scale and complexity, from smaller developments to large multi-disciplinary schemes.

Having guided hundreds of planning applications through to determination, Barney has developed particular expertise in navigating the development management process. He combines a strong understanding of planning policy with effective negotiation skills, working closely with planning officers to help secure positive outcomes and address site-specific constraints.

Before joining Nexus, Barney worked at Rolfe Judd Planning and Bidwells LLP, advising on projects across the residential, commercial and hospitality sectors. He has been a Chartered Member of the Royal Town Planning Institute since May 2021.
