Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement
This statement sets out Nexus Planning Limited's commitment to the principles of the UK Modern Slavery Act 2015 and the abolition of modern slavery and human trafficking.
Introduction
Our commitment
Nexus Planning Limited (Nexus Planning) is committed to the principles of the UK Modern Slavery Act 2015 and the abolition of modern slavery and human trafficking.
Improving practices across our business and maintaining procedures and controls designed to ensure modern slavery or human trafficking are not taking place in our business or supply chain are responsibilities we take seriously.
We have chosen to publish this statement regardless of the fact that, as an SME, there is no requirement for us to do so. We recognise continued economic and cost of living pressures, wars and health inequalities heighten the risk of exploitation, modern slavery and trafficking.
Organisation
Organisation structure and principal activities
Nexus Planning is a privately owned professional services company. Our principal activity is the provision of specialist town planning consultancy services to the public and private sectors in the United Kingdom.
We have offices in Birmingham, Bristol, London, which is also our head office, Manchester and Reading.
Supply chain
Our supply chain
Our supply chain is small, consisting primarily of IT support services, all of which are delivered from the UK, and administrative services enabling the running of our offices.
Policy
Our policy on modern slavery and human trafficking
We are committed to ensuring there is no modern slavery or human trafficking in any part of our business or our supply chain.
Due diligence
Due diligence processes for modern slavery and human trafficking
With regard to our supply chain, our approach is to work with UK registered companies. We expect and require these companies to operate within the requirements of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and to be able to demonstrate this.
We require new suppliers to formally confirm their adherence to the requirements of the Act as part of new supplier onboarding protocols. An annual audit of existing suppliers will require them to confirm the same.
We expect each company in the supply chain to apply one-up due diligence on the next link in the chain. It is not practical for Nexus Planning to have a direct relationship with all links in the supply chain.
Our approach is proportionate to the size and nature of our business, while recognising that modern slavery risks can still arise through indirect supply chains.
Suppliers
Supplier adherence
We will not support or deal with any organisation knowingly involved in modern slavery or human trafficking.
Training
Training
All relevant members of our team will receive training to ensure they understand the risks of modern slavery. This training will take place in the first quarter of each calendar year. All directors are briefed on this subject.
Responsible business matters
Nexus Planning is committed to responsible business practices and proportionate controls across its own operations and supply chain.
