Sutton High School brought forward a programme of strategic campus improvements designed to enhance the school’s educational and sports facilities, address existing spatial constraints, improve sustainability credentials and support pupil wellbeing.
The scheme also increased the school’s capacity, helping to respond to growing local demand for school places.
Scope of worksNexus was involved in proposals for a new sixth form building, forming the final phase of the wider campus redevelopment.
The building was proposed on the site of three existing buildings. As the scheme involved demolition, Nexus helped prepare a robust evidence base to demonstrate that the existing buildings were no longer fit for purpose and that the proposed sixth form facility would deliver a high-quality, sustainable and future-focused educational environment.
The project helped Sutton High School progress a coordinated programme of improvements to its teaching, sixth form, dining, prep school, junior school and sports facilities.
The proposals supported better use of a constrained campus, improved the quality and sustainability of the school environment, and helped the school respond to local demand for places.
